As part of the Biodiversa+ Project BioMonI (Biodiversity Monitoring of Island Ecosystems), we are assembling BioMonI-Plot, a long-term plot network designed to understand biodiversity across multiple taxonomic groups and ecosystem change, with a focus on actively mobilizing data from archipelagos worldwide.
We would like to invite you to contribute your data to the BioMonI-Plot network and join our growing community initiative. We have compiled all the necessary information, the Governance Policy, and its summary, as well as a submission template here.
A crucial step is to fill out and sign the last page of either the Policy or its summary. This allows you to formally choose your level of involvement, such as becoming a member of the BioMonI-Plot consortium, and setting the accessibility level for the shared data. Most importantly, rest assured that contributors retain full data ownership, and we will not share or use (e.g., for publications) your data without your consent.
We have made the contribution process as simple as possible. You don't need to reformat your data, but please provide the necessary metadata and map your field names to the standard BioMonI-Plot field names provided in the submission template.
Additionally, our team is standardizing the variables to the Darwin Core Standard and performing initial quality checks. This can be a significant time-saver for anyone interested in publishing their work as a data paper in the associated special issue. Click here for more information.
Should you (or any potential contributors) have any questions, please feel free to contact our project email (biomoni@uni-goettingen.de) so we can provide support directly.
